Frosh Week
September
Frosh Week allows students to feel more connected to the campus and give 1st and 2nd year students an introduction to the Faculty of Business. Frosh week also reunites 3rd and 4th year students. The event will span over two days and include seminars, lunches and opportunities for students to connect with other students as well as network with the Faculty and the Partners of the event. During Frosh Week we will have a Department Overview, a Leadership Workshop, a Presentation Seminar, and a BASA's "Inside the Boardroom" seminar where students are given an inside look on what a typical day is for someone in the business community.

Meet the Partners
October
Meet the Partners is a networking event where students are able to meet BASA's
various partners throughout the year right at the beginning of the academic year. The
purpose of this event is to give students the opportunity to make connections with
potential future employers early enough to build relations with a variety of professionals in
the business community. This event will be structured as a wine and cheese event allowing
partners and students to speak freely amongst one another.

Marketing Day
November
This is a day for students to not only learn about the field of marketing, but also
how they can market themselves. The day will consist of two seminars: Personal Branding, and "Learn from the Best". Personal Branding is an interactive seminar that will teach students how to market theselves as a commodity to the buisness world. "Learn from the Best" will allow students to learn from an expert in the field of marketing. A
networking dinner will follow after the seminars which will allow students to network with potential future employers.

Exam Cram
December & April
BASA will provide students with a location to prepare for their exams. The room will be open for long hours and provide nourishment for the students during these high times of stress.

Get a Job! Conference
January
This conference is to help students develop their skills in what is
required when applying for jobs. This conference will span two days.
The first day will include workshops in which students will learn how to
write a proper resume, interview tips, first day impressions etc.
The following day, students will partake in speed interviews (approx. 5
interviews lasting 5 minutes long) with partners who will provide
instant feedback. Students will be able to put their interviewing skills to
the ultimate test and partners will get to review a variety of resumes.
There will be an opportunity for students to practice their new skills and
follow up the interviews with a wine and cheese event in the evening

BASA Buzz
February
This half-day conference is a chance for students to gain a more
of a one-on-one learning opportunity with professionals in the
business community. This event is structured to have one
partner at a table with approximately six students who will have the opportunity to ask questions. Students will switch
tables 3-5 times throughout the course of the event to have an opportunity to gain different expertise

Elevator Pitch
March
The Elevator Pitch Business Competition provides students with an interest in Entrepreneurship the
opportunity to share their new business idea in a competitive, fun environment. Students can
enter individually or as a group not exceeding four people. On competition day individuals/teams
must pitch their business idea to a panel of judges as well as a student audience for a cash prize.
The event is based on the concept of the TV series "Dragon's Den".


Business Gala
April
BASA will be hosting the fourth annual Business Gala Dinner. This event will be held to
acknowledge the hard work and dedication required to finish a Bachelor of Business
Administration. All graduates will be invited along with guests, alumni, and select individuals from
the larger university community. All of BASA's partnering companies are invited to attend. The
dinner will be a formal event. The event is designed to facilitate networking amongst students, as
well as between students and the business community in a fun and celebratory environment
