Get a Job Conference

With so many students graduating each year, it is sometimes hard to stand out and be recognized by employers. The Get a Job Conference puts YOU on the right track to standing out, getting recognized and most importantly, getting hired!
On January 17th at 11:30 am in the Buhler Centre (3BC57) the conference starts with the Resume Workshop. Your resume is the first thing an employer sees and it often reveals a lot more about you than you think. This workshop will teach you hidden skills to make sure that your resume is recognized over the other dull, impersonal resumes that come across an employer’s desk.
The most intimidating part of the job search process is the interview. You can read all of the books or articles on how to impress an employer but a book cannot effectively simulate the interview experience. The only way to get better is to practice and BASA is giving you the opportunity to practice with the Speed Interview portion of the Get a Job Conference. Occurring on Wednesday January 18th at 11:30 am at the Buhler Centre (3BC57), Speed Interviews will be conducted in association with Manitoba Lotteries and the Certified General Accountants.
YOU must sign up for the Speed Interviews before January 18th at the BASA office (3BC60).
Last but certainly not least, there will be a Wine and Cheese held at the Fort Garry Gateway Room on Wednesday January 18th starting promptly at 5:00 pm. This is an opportunity for you to mingle with fellow students and BASA’s corporate partners and use your new skills to impress future employers!
By attending the Resume Workshop, Speed Interviews and the Wine and Cheese events you will be ensuring that your name stands out and is recognized by local employers!
